"Best for Women"

Soroptimist's goal is to "[improve] the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world." Working under Soroptimist International of the Americas, the Camarillo club actively participates in community fundraising and service projects such as the bi-annual enchiladas sale, Oxnard Strawberry Festival and food drives. Additionally, the club holds special projects to fund the Women's Opportunity Award, a scholarship given yearly to assist women in "improving their education, skills and employment prospects."

Owner Carol Lopez is a member of Soroptimist International of Camarillo.

Rotary Club of Ventura-South

"Service Above Self"

Rotary International encompasses more than 34,000 clubs worldwide. Members volunteer in local communities to "support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and santitation and eradicate polio."

The Rotary Club of Ventura-South annually hosts Trivia Challenge to benefit the Ventura County Library Adult Literacy Program.

Travel Consultant Marie Frick and her husband, Guy support the Rotary Club of Ventura-South.
